A sure sign that a piece of technology is moving out of the “gotta have gizmo” category and into the mainstream is when it begins packaging applications that interface with basic business systems in the office. Things like Microsoft’s Exchange, as an example, to improve email communications.
Chief among these – at the moment, anyway – is Apple’s iPhone 3G. The question, the big question, is how to integrate these into the office environment. Enter Computerworld and their 3 part series, the first of which is activating, configuring and deploying the new iPhone.
Part 2 will address integrating & managing the iPhone in the Exchange environment.
Part 3 will address in-house iPhone applications.
Get a 3G iPhone, you won’t regret it!
The software quirks will be ironed out shortly and the iPhone is really a paradigm shift for mobile phones (like the original Macs was for DOC PCs).
Truly amazing (or should I say incredibly great )
