The human eye and brain are marvelous inventions, able to see and recognize shapes, colors, light and dark.
But beyond that, to compare two items to tell if they match; to say, “I’ve seen that before!”; and to pick similar items out of a collection of items.
“Yeah, so what?” you say.
Well, computer recognition has not been able to perform such regular, if mundane, tasks consistently. Especially when photos are involved.
