Programmers are creative. Geeks know that, and love the control they wield over their environment. And if you don’t believe that, you don’t know any REAL programmers.
And just to clarify a bit, some of the programmers I’ve worked with include musicians (one member of a jazz band in DC, a composer, a singer who has several CDs and shows to his credit), a biochemist (PhD), several writers and artists. Then there was the guy who had belonged to Mensa several times but kept quitting because he found the Mensa members boring.
